The OC itself doesn't produce finished compost; it dries and stabilizes your food scraps so they become shelf-stable, odor-free, and dramatically reduced in volume. That dried material is an excellent compost feedstock: you can add it to a backyard compost pile, a community compost drop-off, or a green-waste collection, where it breaks down much faster and more cleanly than raw scraps.

The benefit is that the OC removes the smell, mess, and fruit-fly problems of storing raw food waste in your kitchen, while keeping those nutrients in the soil cycle rather than sending them down the drain.
